Rusty "Little Man"
January 2, 2012
"No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love
or to prepare our hearts for goodbye"
We'll never know why you were abandoned by your
previous owner, left to wander the streets alone and ended up in a shelter.
Maybe they didn't want to deal with the serious
injury to your spine...
Whatever the case we wanted you out of the shelter ASAP!
The boys had to give you the "Welcome" once over.
It didn't take too long to forget your fears.
You found the best spot in the house ~ in the sun by the back door...
You weren't very pleased with some of your prototype underwear...
You weren't a big fan of the yard yet and quickly
wanted to come back inside to be with us.
It wasn't long before you figured out the "wait" before rushing the food bowl...
You did however love to play with everything in the toy box!
You could be a little brutal with the toys but in your defense, we
think you did that when you were experiencing
shooting nerve sensations down your back...
We knew your cute little young body could never
be repaired...
But still hoped there was something we could do.
We knew you hated wearing diapers because it wasn't how you wanted to live.
What we wanted was a miracle, and have you recover.
You did get to enjoy some walks with the boys...
Santa brought you some toys but he couldn't repair your little body.
No medications worked well enough to make you happy.
Always holding on to your favorite toy
Sadly, we knew what you wanted us to do.....

It's So Hard.... To Say Goodbye.
"Rusty" The Little Man, With A BIG
Heart !
We wanted you to experience love and security, maybe for the first time
in your short life.
You left this world with us by your side telling you how special you really were.
Rusty's brief presence in our lives will always be remembered with fond memories.
